James Buckley is a domestically established guitarist and vocalist currently situated in North London. He has graduated from the prestigious Institute of Contemporary Music Performance with Distinction in higher diploma guitar. James has also graduated from Bournemouth University and Trinity College London with BA honors and Grade 8 (pro zone) electric guitar respectively.
Teaching:
James has a well-rounded knowledge of many musical styles having studied Classical guitar from an early age as well as spending several years studying under Owen Edwards (Co-founder of Guitar Idol, author of ‘From Zero to Rock Hero’ & creator of alloutguitar.com). James has also benefited from being taught by some of the best guitarists in the country at the ICMP.
Whilst studying for his degree, James taught several pupils to a high level in his spare time; one of whom has started touring the UK with his band (TheAliceBand). James is currently teaching extensively around London privately and in schools - please see the tuition menu for more information.
Session Work (live performance):
James has a colourful history of performing live in various bands and with many artists covering genres such as Soul, Blues, Rock, Funk, R&B, Hip Hop, Dance, Electronic and Pop. Venues have included the Cambridge Corn Exchange, Lewisham People's Festival, The Hope Festival, Winterwell Festival, Ronnie Scott's (with MOBO Recommended artist Rax, featured on Radio 1Xtra) and Somerset House supporting Katy B (3000+ crowd).
Personal:
James is currently writing and recording his debut EP to be reaeased later this year as well as fronting an events band.
